This policy explains what data Tennis Arcade Games handles, what it does not, and what you can ask us to do. It is written specifically for this site rather than adapted from a template, because a generic policy would describe systems we do not have.
Last updated: 15 September 2026.
This is a static website with no database, no user accounts and no login. We do not collect your name, your email address or your browsing behaviour. Your game scores are stored in your own browser and never reach us. Our web host records standard server logs, and if advertising is added in future this policy will be updated before it goes live, not afterwards.
Who is responsible
Tennis Arcade Games (tennisarcade.xyz) is operated by an individual publisher. For any question about this policy or about your data, contact privacy@tennisarcade.xyz or use the contact page.
Site owner: the registered operator name and postal address must be added here before launch, and are required in some jurisdictions. This is a placeholder and should not remain in a live policy.
What we collect
Nothing, through the site itself
This site is a set of static HTML files. There is no application server, no database and no account system. There is nowhere for us to store information about you, and consequently we do not.
Specifically, we do not collect or hold: your name, your email address (unless you email us), your location, your IP address in any form we retain, your browsing history, or any profile of you.
Stored in your own browser
The site stores a small amount of data in your browser's localStorage. This is not a cookie, it is not transmitted with requests, and it is readable only by this site on your device. We cannot see it.
| Key | What it holds | Why |
|---|---|---|
ta:best:<game> | Your best score for one game | So the game can show your personal best |
ta:sound | Whether game sound is on | So you do not have to turn it off every visit |
ta:favourites:v1 | Games you have marked as saved | So your saved games persist between visits |
ta:recent:v1 | The last few games you opened | To show a "recently played" list on the home page |
ta:consent:v1 | Your choice on the cookie notice | So the notice does not reappear on every page |
All of it stays on your device. Clearing your browsing data removes it, and there is no way for us to restore it because we never had a copy.
Server logs
Like every website, this one is served by a web host that keeps standard access logs. These typically record the IP address making a request, the page requested, the time, the browser user-agent string and the referring page. This is a technical necessity of operating a website — a server cannot answer a request without knowing where to send the response.
We do not use these logs to build profiles, and we do not combine them with anything else. They are retained by the host according to its own retention schedule.
Site owner: name your hosting provider here and link to its privacy documentation and data-processing terms, along with the log retention period. This is required for a complete policy.
If you email us
If you contact us, we hold your message and your email address for as long as needed to deal with it and to keep a record of corrections. That is a normal email inbox, not a database, and the messages are not used for anything else. We do not add you to a mailing list.
Cookies
At the time of writing, this site sets no cookies of its own. The preferences described above use localStorage, which is a different mechanism.
The cookie policy covers this in detail, including what would change if advertising is introduced. The cookie notice you may have seen exists because we intend to run advertising in future and want your choice recorded before anything is set, rather than after.
Advertising
We are being explicit about this because it is the most likely future change to how your data is handled.
No advertising is currently running on this site. The pages reserve layout space for it so that introducing it later will not cause content to jump around, but no advertising code is loaded and no advertising network receives anything about your visit.
If advertising is introduced, third-party advertising services typically set cookies or use similar technologies to measure impressions and, in some configurations, to personalise what is shown. Those services act as data controllers in their own right for the data they collect.
Our commitments if that happens:
- This policy and the cookie policy will be updated before any advertising code is deployed, not afterwards.
- The provider will be named here, with a link to its own privacy information.
- Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies, consent will be obtained before they are set.
- Advertising will never be placed over a game, and will never be styled to look like navigation or content.
Third parties and external links
This site loads no third-party scripts, no third-party fonts, no analytics and no embedded media. Everything needed to render a page is served from this domain. That is a deliberate choice and it is the main reason this policy is short.
The site does link to external websites. Once you follow such a link you are subject to that site's privacy practices, not ours, and we have no control over and no responsibility for what they do. Share buttons on articles are plain links that do nothing until you click them — no social network is contacted, and no tracking script runs, unless you choose to use one.
Analytics
No analytics is installed. We do not know how many people visit this site beyond what appears in the host's server logs, and we do not track individual visitors.
If analytics is added in future, this section will name the provider, say what it collects, and state whether it uses cookies — before it is deployed.
Children
This site is suitable for general audiences and its games contain no violent, sexual or gambling content. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because there is no account system and no data collection, there is in practice nothing for a child to submit.
Legal basis and your rights
Where data protection law such as the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR applies, our lawful basis for the limited processing described above is legitimate interest — specifically, operating and securing a website and responding to messages people send us.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to complain to a supervisory authority. You can exercise any of these by emailing privacy@tennisarcade.xyz.
In practice, the honest answer to most access or deletion requests will be that we hold nothing about you. If you have emailed us, we hold that email and can delete it on request. Your game scores are not ours to delete — they are on your device, and clearing your browser data removes them immediately.
Residents of California and other jurisdictions with specific privacy statutes have equivalent rights, including the right to know what is collected and the right to opt out of sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information and have no mechanism to do so.
Security
The site should be served over HTTPS, which encrypts the connection between your browser and the server. Because we hold no accounts, no payment details and no personal data, there is no store of user data here to breach. This is a real security advantage of a static site and one of the reasons it is built this way.
No credentials, API keys or secrets appear in the site's source code.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially — particularly if advertising or analytics is introduced — the date at the top will be updated and the change will be reflected here before the new processing begins. We will not quietly change our practices and update the policy afterwards.
Questions about any of this are welcome at privacy@tennisarcade.xyz.
